Certification of Lifitng Appliances complies with the ILO requirements and is based on DNV's rules. If the Lifting Appliance is included in a class notation CRANE og CRANE VESSEL, certification of the Lifting Appliance is mandatory. For other cases, ILO certifcation of Lifting Appliance is mandatory, but to use DNV is optional.
